Top UK talent among the 90 Nominees revealed for 2018 Emile Awards

The 2018 Emile Awards 90 Nominees have been announced, featuring a host of UK talent among the jurors and nominees.

Earlier today, Peter Lord, President of the European Animation Awards (EAA) Association, Didier Brunner, Vice President, Jean-Paul Commin, General Secretary and Matie Haroutian, General Delegate, announced the 2018 Emile Awards nominees from the General Secretariat from the Greek Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media.

The list features a number of exceptional UK talent and productions among the nominees, including Animation UK members:

● The Highway Rat – United Kingdom | Tim Dillnutt, Jeroen Jaspaert (storyboard artists) (Magic Light Pictures)

● Early Man – United Kingdom | Ashley Boddy, Andy Janes, Richard Phelan, Michael Salter, Luis (Aardman)

● Hey Duggee – The Space Badge – United Kingdom | Grant Orchard (director) (Studio AKA)

As well as this, Locksmith Animation’s own story artist Ashley Boddy shall be on the jury for the TV/Broadcast Productions & Commissioned Films category.

BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN A STUDENT FILM 

– BEST DIRECTION – In an Animated Short Film

– BEST BACKGROUND & CHARACTER DESIGN 

– BEST BACKGROUND & CHARACTER DESIGN – In an Animated Short Film

– BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN A COMMISSIONED FILM 

– BEST DIRECTION – In a TV / Broadcast Production

– BEST STORYBOARD – In a TV / Broadcast Production

– BEST CHARACTER ANIMATION – In a TV / Broadcast Production

EAA members will be able to vote online to elect the winners in all 18 categories until the 30th of November (11pm GMT).

The winner for each category will be announced during the Emile Awards ceremony on Dec, 8th and receive the trophy on stage.
