Serious Kids lands a raft of international TV pre-sales deals for Lupus Films’ animated special
Serious Kids has secured a raft of international tv pre-sales for Lupus Films’ hand-drawn animated special ‘Mog’s Bad Thing’ ahead of MIPCOM Jr. Based on the book by Judith Kerr, the half-hour special for Channel 4’s Christmas schedule has attracted pre-buys ahead of its delivery at the end of October 2026.
Pre-sales for broadcast include France TV, ABC (Australia), VRT (Belgium), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), S4C, ETV (South Africa) and Czech TV, with another two deals at offer stage. In international distribution, Les Films du Préau and Modiband take the lead for theatrical release in France and Spain respectively and Vue Lumière, the distribution arm of cinema operator Vue, will have a theatrical release in the UK, following a soon-to-be announced UK festival premiere.

Produced by Lupus Films’ co-founders Ruth Fielding and Camilla Deakin, ‘Mog’s Bad Thing’ is written by Joanna Harrison (‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’, ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’) and directed by Robin Shaw (‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’, ‘Mog’s Christmas’). It is a warm-hearted and hilarious adventure for the whole family from Judith Kerr’s beloved ‘Mog’ series, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, about her endearing family cat – which have sold over 4 million copies worldwide in 26 languages. It follows the success of ‘Mog’s Christmas, which attracted 5.7 million viewers on Channel 4 during Christmas 2023 and has become a modern festive favourite for family audiences.
In ‘Mog’s Bad Thing’, Mog is the Thomas family tabby cat who always finds herself in big trouble. The family are hosting a cat show in their garden which should be Mog’s chance to shine, but in all the excitement she does a “bad thing” which means she hides in the attic feeling sorry for herself and misses the start of the show. Can Mog find a way to leave her hiding place, make her family proud and save the day?
