CAKE closes deals in Europe and Asia for TV shows created by Marvel and Star Wars comic book artist Will Sliney.

Draw With Will

Leading kids’ entertainment specialist CAKE and Pioneertown Productions have announced new seasons of Draw With Will and Will Sliney’s Storytellers following a number of deals concluded by CAKE.

The How To Draw TV shows created and presented by world famous Marvel, Spider-Man, DC Comics and Star Wars comic book artist Will Sliney launched successfully during lockdown following Will’s viral art movement #WeWillDraw where he inspired thousands of children to learn to draw with his easy to follow drawing tutorials.

Produced by award-winning producer Jonathan Loughran (Black 47, Wild Mountain Thyme) for Pioneertown Productions, Draw With Will launched on Sky Kids in June 2021, followed by Will Sliney’s Storytellers which premiered in October 2021 on RTE in Ireland. Both were immediately commissioned for a second season and a third season of Draw With Will has now also been greenlit focused on computer game characters.

Deals signed by CAKE include TV Catalunya Spain, SVT Sweden, Czech TV, MTVA Hungary, Latvian TV and Ukraine’s YouTube channel Sunflower TV, True Visions in Thailand and PCCW Media in Hong Kong and Macau.

Draw with Will (40 x 7-9 minutes) teaches 5-12 year olds how to draw some of the world’s most iconic cartoon characters including SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol, Pokémon, Sonic the Hedgehog, Boss Baby, Trolls, The Loud House and more in entertaining tutorials which encourage creativity and imagination.

Will Sliney’s Storytellers (42 x 11 minutes) shows 8-12 year olds how to draw characters and create a story in this epic tale of heroes and villains. Part drawing show, part animated adventure where characters from the page come to life, the all-star cast includes BAFTA winning actor and stand-up comic Aisling Bea, BBC/ITV/MTV broadcaster/presenter/filmmaker Laura Whitmore, filmmaker and Sunday Times Bestselling author Dawn O’Porter, WWE Superstar wrestler Sheamus aka Stephen Farrelly and The Young Offenders star Demi Isaac Oviawe.

We are excited to be working with Will and Jonathan on these two uniquely formatted and entertaining series. Will’s obvious love of art and his skill-based and enthusiastic approach will engage children everywhere and encourage them, that with a little practise, they too can draw anything.

We are delighted to partner with CAKE on bringing our shows to kids around the globe as we hopefully inspire a new generation of artists to create their own stories. Drawing is a skill, not a talent and everyone can draw. With our shows kids can discover the pro tips Will learned as a Marvel artist and maybe one day make their own show!
