Dominic Minns Appointed Series Director on Upcoming CBeebies Doctor Who Animation
Blue Zoo Animation Studio is thrilled to announce that Dominic Minns has been appointed Creative Director at Blue Zoo. He will also serve as Series Director on the upcoming CBeebies Doctor Who preschool animation series, which is currently in production and promises to bring the wonders of the Whoniverse to a whole new generation of young fans.
Dominic moves into this role from Blue Zoo’s sister studio, Brighton Zoo, where his leadership as Co-Founder and Creative Director was instrumental in fostering a culture of artistic innovation and excellence in children’s media.

In 2024, Dom directed the first season of Mojo Swoptops for CBeebies, building on his success as Series Director of Supertato, one of CBeebies’ consistently highest-rated shows. Mojo Swoptops has since established itself as another major success for the channel, with growing international momentum and a second season now in production. Dom created BAFTA-winning Tee and Mo, a digital-first intergenerational brand. Beyond his work as Creative Lead on BAFTA-winning projects like Get Well Soon Hospital, Zingzillas, and Big and Small, Dom is a respected global voice in the industry and is a frequent fixture on panels at Annecy, Kidscreen, and The Children’s Media Conference.
The move to the CBeebies animated Doctor Who project marks a significant milestone for both Dominic and Blue Zoo.
