China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF) is the only state-level professional cartoon and animation festival of its kind in China.
CICAF is a comprehensive carnival-like festival with the main venue of 80,000 square meters, including B2B and B2C and is mainly composed by 5 major parts: expo, forums, business, competitions and activities, such as Opening Ceremony, Industry Exposition, Core Forum, iABC, “Golden Monkey King” Awards Competition, Hangzhou Summit, C.A.K.E Talks, Film Screening, Cartoon Masterpiece Auction and Float Parade, etc.
The festival is composed of 55 activities launched in the main venue, and 10 branch venues, centring on the five boards of convention and exhibition, forum, business, competition and activity. They have in the past attracted an audience of up to 1.4335 million from 85 countries and regions, including 2641 Chinese and foreign companies, and 5760 exhibitors and professionals.
CICAF is sponsored by the National Radio and Television Administration of the People’s Republic of China; and The People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, also co-organized by Zhejiang Radio and Television Bureau, Zhejiang Radio & TV Group, and Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government.
This annual event has been held in Hangzhou since 2005, the capital of Zhejiang Province, a scenic city famed for its legendary West Lake as the World Cultural Heritage.
